To assist Singapore companies gain access into the European markets through business and technology partnership opportunities with European companies, the SMF collaborated with Enterprise Singapore and Intellectual Property Intermediary (IPI) to set up the Singapore branch of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). To date, over 2000 Singapore companies have registered to join EEN and be part of its database.

Webinar & B2B Matching Session with Polish Companies/ Producers/Suppliers of Food & Beverage Industry

3 September 2020 EEN Singapore and Polish National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) co-organised a webinar and virtual B2B matching session to help companies from both nations to enter into each other’s markets. During the event, speakers from EEN Singapore, KOWR, Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and Business Engineers Asia shared their insights into the Polish Food and Beverage (F&B) Industry and how Singapore F&B companies could enter into the Polish market. Polish companies then presented their business offerings to Singaporean companies, with virtual breakout rooms setup to allow one-on-one meetings between companies from both nations. The event was supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore.

Company representatives from Poland and Singapore met virtually despite the time difference.

Netherlands-Singapore Technology Partnerships Virtual Pitching Webinar

10 September 2020 EEN Singapore co-organised a Technology Partnership Pitching Webinar for Dutch and Singaporean companies, together with the EUREKA GlobalStars-Singapore Call, the Netherlands Innovation Network and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. The technologies that companies pitched focused on the following areas: Agri/ Food Innovation; Sustainability; Digitalisation; and, Manufacturing – Industry 4.0. Over 160 participants attended this webinar.

This technology matchmaking webinar had Dutch and Singaporean companies pitch their latest technologies to one another.

Singapore Manufacturing Federation & Schneider Electric Joint LIVE Panel Webinar – Implementing a Resilient Industry 4.0 Manufacturing!

23 September 2020 EEN Singapore, together with Schneider Electric Pte Ltd co-organised a live panel Webinar to share insights on building a resilient manufacturing sector with Industry 4.0. SMF Secretary-General Mr Lawrence Pek and Business Advisor from SME Centre@SMF, Mr Jeremy Quah, were part of the panel with representatives from iPlast 4.0 Pte Ltd, Evercomm Singapore Pte Ltd, and Schneider Electric Pte Ltd. More than 160 participants attended this webinar.

Continuing Your Exports to the United Kingdom (UK) – Transitioning to the UK Conformity Assessed Marking & Updates on UK legislation for Medical Devices

5 November 2020 EEN Singapore organised a webinar session to provide insights and details on transitioning to the United Kingdom Conformity Assessed (UKCA) Marking Post-Brexit to continue exporting to the United Kingdom. Updates to the new UK regulations on medical devices were also shared during the session. The webinar was supported by Enterprise Singapore and British Standards Institution (BSI). More than 370 participants attended the webinar.

The European Union-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA) First Year Anniversary Celebration

3 December 2020 The SMF was invited to be one of the speakers at the celebration of the EUSFTA’s first year anniversary. SMF President Mr Douglas Foo presented the topic of “The Way Ahead – Supporting Business Cooperation” where he shared how Trade Associations and Chambers such as the SMF, together with EEN Singapore, support businesses in their internationalisation endeavours and encouraging businesses to make use of the benefits of Free Trade Agreements such as the EUSFTA. This event is organised by the European Union in Singapore and Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). Mr S Iswaran, who is the Minister-in-Charge of Trade Relations and then Minister for Communications and Information gave the keynote speech.

“Enhancing Your Exports to Europe for Medical Devices: Legislations & Certification” Webinar

17 December 2020 EEN Singapore organised a webinar session which provide insights, analysis and tips on how to export medical devices and diagnostic test kits into the European Union (EU) as well as to share the legislations and certifications involved in exporting to Europe. Information and procedures needed to acquire the mandatory ‘Conformite Europeenne’ (CE) marking when exporting to the European Economic Area (EEA) were also shared during the session. This webinar saw more than 200 participants comprising SMF members, representatives from fellow Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs), foreign chambers as well as senior management of companies.

27 January 2021 Representatives from EEN Singapore, the SMF, Enterprise Singapore (ESG), and Intellectual Property Intermediary (IPI) Singapore participated in a webinar session to provide an overview on Singapore’s business environment, mutual trade opportunity as well as services offered by EEN Singapore. More than 90 EEN partners attended this webinar session to better understand EEN Singapore and the services offered by its three partners. In addition, the webinar has raised a great deal of interest among the various Commission services (e.g. the EU Delegation).
