SME Centre @ Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMEC @ SMF) was established in May 2005 as one of the Associated Services of the SMF. Supported by Enterprise Singapore, SMEC @ SMF provides small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with easy access to business advisory to help them start, sustain and grow their businesses. The first-stop SME Centres provide services including business diagnosis, information on government schemes and capability workshops. For the financial year, SMEC @ SMF has attended to over 5000 SME cases.
NORTHWEST MAYOR DIALOGUE SESSION
The North West Community Development Centre was assisted by the SME Centre@NorthWest in engaging with the building and construction industry through the North West Mayor Dialogue session on 25 June 2020. Construction and building companies have expressed their concerns about the COVID-19 situation, rising business costs, and the closure of work sites and dormitories. Former North West District Mayor Dr Teo Ho Pin spoke about current government policies and took feedback from the audience during the workshop. A SME Centre@ NorthWest Business Advisor then shared the support and measures put in place by the Singapore Government to help SMEs during this difficult time.

SME CENTRE CONFERENCE 2020 (WEBINAR)
The SME Centre Conference is an annual event that guides micro and small businesses how to grow their businesses and stay competitive in an ever-changing business landscape. SMEs can learn from reputable business leaders and knowledge experts at this conference. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with over 800 SME CEOs, founders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
Jointly organised by the SME Centres and supported by Enterprise Singapore, this edition held on 6 August 2020 highlighted the importance for SMEs to stay relevant with digital technologies, identify and seize international growth opportunities, as well as acquiring actionable insights from industry experts. As COVID-19 continues to transform the business landscape, new opportunities are emerging – especially for companies that are building up their capabilities and taking a digital-first approach towards doing business.

SMF President Mr Douglas Foo gave his welcome address during the Conference. Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Culture, Community & Youth, Ms Low Yen Ling was the Guest-of-Honour for the Conference.

INCREASE THE REACH AND VISIBILITY OF YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH DIGITAL MARKETING
SME Centre@SouthWest held a virtual workshop on 9 September 2020 to teach participants how to use digital marketing tools to increase brand awareness for SMEs’ e-commerce businesses. Over 100 participants from 94 SMEs attended the workshop. Representatives from SME Centre@SouthWest shared how to use digital marketing tools such as social media platforms to get more visitors to visit businesses e-commerce platforms. One of the industry practitioners Mr Richard Wong also provided 1 guidance to creating greater brand awareness online.
